Métiers de la Céramique et Poterie
La mosaïque est très ancienne et déjà utilisée avec divers composants selon les époques. Elle était déjà connue et utilisée à Uruk, ville de Mésopotamie, dont on a retrouvé plusieurs décorations dans le Temple aux mosaïques, édifié au IIe millénaire avant J.-C. A l’époque grec la céramique était constituée de tesselles de galets non-retaillés. L’époque romaine apportera des modifications importantes dans la fabrication et la création de la céramique grâce à cet outil ancestral que l’on utilise encore de nos jour La Marteline. La mosaïque polychrome, utilisée du sol aux murs comme décorations des maisons romaines et établissement s’étendra sur tous le bassin méditerranéen.
